Lafayette, LA - A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette, for Charles Loren Burke, 97, who passed peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Survivors include one son, Reverend Doctor Kenneth O. Burke and his wife Jo; three grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Bourgeois, Christopher J. Burke and Erik S. Burke; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Oetgen Burke and his parents, Charles A. and Marie McBride Burke. He was a native of Vidette, Georgia and a resident of Savannah, Georgia for many years prior to moving to Lafayette. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Graveside Service in Savannah will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park with Pastor John Ohsiek officiating.
